What Is Ancestral Healing?

Something shifts when you begin to wonder whether the heaviness you carry is entirely your own.
The anxiety that appears without a clear cause. The grief that feels older than your years. The patterns of relationship, money, or self-worth that you have tried to change through every tool available to you — therapy, prayer, affirmations, sheer will — and still they return.
What if some of what you are carrying arrived before you were born?
What Ancestral Healing Is
Ancestral healing is the practice of recognizing, honoring, and releasing the emotional, psychological, and spiritual patterns that have been passed down through your family lineage.
These patterns are not merely metaphorical. Epigenetic research now confirms what indigenous wisdom traditions have always taught: that experiences of trauma, unresolved grief, and profound stress can be transmitted across generations at the cellular level. The body remembers what the mind has not been given permission to process.
Ancestral healing says: we do not have to keep carrying what was never ours to bear alone. And more than that — when we heal a pattern within ourselves, we shift something in the lineage that flows both behind us and ahead.
The Work I Do — and Why It Is Different
My approach to ancestral healing is rooted in the SaRa Technique, a method I developed from ancient Egyptian manuscripts written by the clairvoyant and mystic Omm Sety — documents I have held in my possession for over twenty years.
Sa Ra translates to "divine essence." The technique works directly with that essence: the truest part of you, the part that exists beneath the accumulated weight of inherited pain and cultural conditioning.
This is not a religious practice. It is a heart-based practice, open to all beliefs and all backgrounds. The Egyptian wisdom that informs it does not ask you to adopt a theology. It asks you to remember yourself.
Ancient Wisdom, Contemporary Psychology
I am an interfaith minister and former licensed psychotherapist, holding a Doctorate in Ministry, a Master's in Transformational Counseling, and Ph.D. studies in Depth Psychology, World Religion, Mythology, and Cultural Anthropology. I have had the extraordinary privilege of studying under James Hillman, Joseph Campbell, Marija Gimbutas, Jean Houston, and Caroline Myss, among others.
This means the work we do together draws from the full breadth of human understanding about healing and transformation:
Solution-Focused Therapy — a research-grounded approach that builds on your existing strengths rather than dwelling in what is broken.
Depth Psychology — working with the symbols, dreams, and mythic story of your own life to understand the deeper forces at play.
Mythic Exploration — recognizing that your life has a shape, a meaning, and a direction that extends beyond the personal.
Ancient Egyptian heart wisdom — the Sa Ra Technique's breathwork, gentle movement, energy alignment, and emotional release practices that reconnect you with your core self.
Together, these create a healing container that honors both your mind and your spirit, your history and your possibility.
What We Work With
People come to this work carrying many different things. Some of what I see most often:
Patterns of anxiety, depression, or emotional shutdown that do not respond to conventional approaches.
Recurring relationship dynamics — with partners, with family, with money — that feel locked in place no matter what you try.
Grief that has never had a name or a proper place to land.
A sense of disconnection from yourself: from your body, your purpose, your sense of worth.
PTSD and trauma held in the nervous system, especially when it has a lineage quality — family histories of war, displacement, addiction, or loss.
A spiritual hunger — a feeling that there is something larger you are meant to understand about why you are here.
You do not need to arrive with a clear diagnosis or a tidy narrative. You need only come as you are.
This Work Is for You If...
You sense that some of what you carry belongs to your lineage, not just your personal story.
You are ready to do healing work that goes beyond talking about the problem.
You want to feel genuinely different — not just better-managed.
You are curious about the intersection of ancient wisdom and contemporary understanding.
You are open to the possibility that healing yourself is an act of service to those who came before you, and to those who will come after.
How We Begin
Every journey starts with a free consultation. We spend time together so I can understand where you are, what you are carrying, and what kind of support would serve you best. There is no pressure, no sales conversation — only an honest exchange.
Sessions are available both in person in northern New Mexico and virtually for clients across the country.
The lineage that made you also made the healer within you. This work is how the two find each other.
I would be honored to walk with you.
